I grew up in the Bay Area and know the area well. So it stuck in my mind. PS it was also the dems and liberals who fought for the 1964 civil rights act and the Republcians and dixiecrats who tried to stop it. You said it was the dems, as I remember. I believe you have this one wrong too.
