Can you just go to invade a sovereign country, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent citizens, destroying homes, hospitals, schools and other infra structures, and gets nearly 5,000 American soldiers killed plus 25,000 permanently injured war veterans, and get away with that? The answer is that if you are a not the mightiest country in the world, you cannot get away with that kind of brutality. Saddam Hussein tried that by invading Kuwait in early 1990's and he got sanctions. But if you are the mightiest country in the world, there is nothing any one can do. Even if that country is a country of law. No wonder that Bush and Cheney sleep well at night.
