Re: "I think the GOP should go more Libertarian..." Well... SOMEBODY sure as Hell should go in the direction of small government & personal liberty! The votes are just sitting out there waiting for the politicians to wise up. Re: "if people want big government, then they'll just vote for the liberals, which they did..." (Ain't that just the thing though? Recent decades brought about equally large increases in the size and intrusiveness of central government under Republican rule... not to mention even larger deficits than from the Dems....) Re: "... the GOP has gone astray, Newt is correct, the GOP can't compete..." All things come to those who wait. (At least I hope so. <g>)
