I see nothing wrong with promoting community service and a spirit of volunteerism. I'm not sure, however, that we need an organized program for this. There are numerous opportunities to volunteer in one's community, from school and sporting activities to child abuse prevention programs to the Humane Society to the local food bank.

What we don't need is a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps or Corps Corps.

Is Obama thinking of PAYING those "volunteers" ? IF so how much is that going to cost the taxpayers?

A tax credit of $4000 for the parents who foot the bill of college is a good idea....but people will think it is like free....

Otherwise, President has encouraged Volunteerism his whole Presidency. And most of us have been Volunteers for something for a long, long time.
