Linda Chavez has taken the pulse of the D.C. school system well.

And, yes Fenty is one determined Mayor of D.C. He is such a breath of fresh air after the corruption of previous administrations in D.C.

If Michelle Rhee is not supported in this mega effort to improve education in D.C., I see little hope for D.C. public schools.

And, yes the Obama's have an opportunity to be a part of the solution in D.C. and not a part of the problem------the solution being as the first black family in theWhite House to set an example and send their girls to public school.

Can you imagine the prestige that would suddenly be assigned to the school and to the neighborhoods feeding into that school.

Many excuses will be given by the Obamas for not sending their children to public schools in D.C.------the same that have been heard before by the Democrats both at the national level and those who live in the bedroom communities of Washington.

Their children usually are sent to the exclusive schools rather than the public schools.
