i had a variable annuity with AIG....took the tax bite, which i'm mitigating somewhat by maxing out an HSA....in fact, i started shifting some of the money out last year....before the AIG debacle....i just didn't like the investment vehicles in their offering....at least there wasn't a penalty, having owned it for more than 10 years
