LOL!! Saw that article!!

My father, being a kid during WWII and the '50's loved spam.. He'd have my mom fry it up for sandwiches..

And you know, I just bought my first can (low sodium) a couple of weeks ago on a whim, just to see how much they toned down the salty taste. It wasn't bad.. fried of course..

So I wonder what other "recession plays" we can come up with? Ross's.. Kmart.. Target, dollar stores?

Btw, was walking in Old Town Alexandria Virgina last night.. Starting to see a few stores and restaurants going out of business down there, and the crowds were pretty thin.

And this is a "federal" town.. government jobs.. But probably a lot of HELOCs, devastated stock and real estate portfolios, a lot of government contractors worried about their jobs in the defense industry.

...and now for something completely different...... spam, spam, spam..... ok.... a bit too much Monty Python.

I see they make great reference to it in the article.

Spam is real popular in Hawaii it seems.

Jon, did you see how GE 10 year notes, complete with a Triple AAA rating is yielding over 7%. The yields on some corporate paper and notes and bonds is really through the proverbial roof.
