She'd be good at it? She showed in the campaign she's smart, tough and a hard worker. That it irritates your team is just a bonus.

That would be a move Abraham Lincoln would approve. He picked his most dangerous political enemies to fill key cabinet positions. They did not like it but he prevailed upon them to serve the country. Being so close to the president and being part of the administration itself made it difficult for them, as honorable men, to "maneuver" and after a while many of them turned into supporters and even friends of the great man.

A good lesson: Keep your enemies close.
