It's just the latest manifestation of shock doctrine. No good decisions are ever made under duress. This is just the latest example of that principle.

Easily fooled, and patriots.

They were told Iraq was a serious threat. They believed their President and did the right thing, the patriotic thing. They supported their President.

But the President was misleading them.

Now, once again, Paulson tells congress we're facing a terrible crisis and they need to act boldly, quickly.

And again they do the patriotic thing, acting quickly, supporting their President.

Has he misled them again? It seems so.

This is on the President and his administration, though a smarter, more savvy congress would be nice.
