I'm as right wing as it comes and I've often thought that there should be some kind of community service by everyone. I've done my share of coaching kids soccer and baseball.
Therefore I don't see the problem.

Here's the deja vu of the day:

Kids in school will be forced by the school administrators, teachers, and especially by peer pressure to join these community "youth groups," and kids will turn their parents' names in to school officials for refusing to sign and allow their kids to join... the school, in turn, will give those names over to the government... the government will tell the schools that if they do not get enough kids enrolled into these groups, that their government school funding will be cut off... those kids who don't join will be viewed as unpatriotic outcasts... at some point soon thereafter, the kids will be fitted for uniforms and those who show leadership ability will be given a leadership rank over the others... they will have banners and flags, and they will show how proud they are of their service by marching with the school band in parades... sound familiar? We are going back to the future, welcome to 1938 all over again...
