While travelling south to the southern US this fall, we kept passing huge tandem tractor trailers hauling huge long weird shaped things. I finally realized they were blades off of wind turbines. They are some large.
It is the first time in all my years that I have run across these being hauled and there were many trucks of them.
I googled and came up with this image of them loaded for transport although the ones in the image are on rail.

Tip speeds anywhere near the speed of sound we would be typically talking hurricane force, no ? safer to just shut down ?
