I realize the first paragraph of your response has nothing to do with jury selection from the attorney's stand point. I just thought it was peculiar that my friend kept getting selected for a supposedly random draw for the pool.

I understand your point about attorneys wanting the best possible juries for their clients. But shouldn't juries be a panel of peers, not hand selected? Digging into jury backgrounds by professionals seems like it sort of perverts that.

The jury I served on failed. We hastily selected the foreman on the basis of age (oldest), but he was awful, and incorrigible. He hung the jury.
