What post are you responding to?

I wasn't talking about the free enterprise system. I was talking about Government.

In 1980 the Republicans apparently decided that "Tax Cuts" was going to be their mantra from then on. They'd throw in the "smaller government" thing to make it all sound swell, but never really worry about that end of it.

Who DOESN'T like tax cuts???? It's a WINNER, especially when you don't have to talk about deficits anymore.

When Newt was in there he actually tried to look at the BIG picture and care about things like deficits. He worked with Clinton to get us back to surpluses.

Then W. came in and there wasn't any Newt around to balance things anymore. W. said, surpluses, we don't want to have surpluses, that's just money we can give out in more TAX CUTS!!! Who cares if we have a 500% increase in our National Debt in the last 20 years, Reagan proved that deficits DON'T matter. Let's PARTEEEEEEE, tax cuts all around.
