No doubt at all about that!

(The toxic aftermath of the Bush II years also played a big role in driving Dem voter turnout up....)

So?

You can say that about ANY and ALL big voter slices (such as 'Catholics', 'Middle Class', 'Easterners', or whatever the heck you want to look at.)

Still, there is no denying the fact that (as far as recent American national politics goes) the turnaround in the American Catholic vote from 'Republican' to 'Democrat' was PRETTY LARGE in percentage terms... from the Bush II numbers to Obama's.

In politics, a 14 point swing (from Bush up five, to Obama up by nine) for such a large bloc is *huge*.
