You would have missed out on 8 years of dividends from the S&P 500. I don't know what that is. And if you really wanted to know if you did worse following Brinker or not you would have to take into account the cost of the advice (8 years times $185). Might not be a big deal if you had a $10 million portfolio, but might be a big deal if you had just a small portfolio. Then you have to look at what he has recommended for funds. And by the way I don't know what a buy and holder really means because obody I know just buys and holds they are always adding money to their accounts until they stop earning wages. If you mean the opposite of market timing then I understand. As far as I am concerned though I no longer believe that Bob Brinker is a good marketimer.
