Aggie, there is no need to fear - we will not wise up.

we practically beg these guys to tell us lies so that we, as a society, can rape and pillage future generations and other peoples all while being told we are great.

"But don't worry about past lies, move on past them and accuse the historians of partisan hate mongering - the public's frame of reference stays firmly in the present and recent."

Then the question is why didn't we vote those bums out? Is the problem caused by the politician or the voters? I don't think majority of the society want to hear the truth. If they do, they would have saved money for their old age. They would have done a better job in raising their kids. And they definitely would have learned more about finance. None of these things happen because general public at large decide to live for today and a lie is better than the truth.. How long did we know the problem of social security? Why is there not enough outrage to cause a band of congressman or senator hopeful that come forward with potential solution in their platform for election? I think it is better to look at our ourselves instead laying the blame on the politicians. We choose our leaders and we did not choose wisely..
