Yes, I agree completely. Cuban is annoying as hell, just like Martha Stewart <g>

I guess at some point I'll be starting a new contest for how long Cuban spends in Jail <g>

I don't know if you remembered a few years ago my griping about Cuban. Cuban was really a dumass that got lucky in high tech, an amazing stroke of dumb luck and has imploded ever since. In 2004 he literally destroyed this metasearch startup called Mamma.com which aggregates all the other search engines. He did not, at that time understand the GOOG search model vs yahoo and claimed Mamma was the "same" as GOOG in terms of business model- it is NOT- he didn't "get" paid search, he is an incredible loudmouth.

Well now he has been charged by the SEC over that incident.

SEC charges Mark Cuban with insider trading

WASHINGTON — Federal regulators have charged Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban with insider trading for allegedly using confidential information on a stock sale to avoid more than $750,000 in losses.

The Securities and Exchange Commission filed a civil lawsuit against Cuban today in federal court in Dallas. The agency says that in June 2004, Cuban was invited to get in on the coming stock offering by Mamma.com after he agreed to keep the information private.

The SEC says Cuban knew the shares would be sold below the current market price, and a few hours after receiving the information, told his broker to sell all shares in the search engine company.

They love to take down someone in the public eye. Gives them more press and lets the little people think they're on top of things. Just like the bs of putting Martha Stewart in jail. Most of Ws behaved much worse but the SEC never touched one of them.

Cuban won't go down without a fight like Martha did and he won't give a rat's a$$ who he takes with him. Pop the corn, this might be worth watching.
