happen to me last two years with those frost free faucets.. and i disconnect the hose.. pipe runs through the garage but garage never gets colder than forty or so because heat ducks run through and garage is below bedroom so heat running and i assume dropping out. he said do not believe frost protected.. the cold can run up the pipe end far enough to split the pipe.

had the plumber , joe, replace a few shut off valves and drained all pipes going to outside. hopefully i do not replace another faucet.
