"Unions have outlived their usefulness" I don't like unions either, but there's nothing else to represent the working man. I don't like CORRUPT unions.

"The Big Three, had they broken the unions years ago, would never in this terrible condition." Sure they would have been. Their problems are structural. While their R&D is top notch, they tend not to productize anything unless someone else has already done so. Which is why they are behind in hybrids, amongst other things. Management tends to make decisions only for the short term and they don't try to position for the long term. And they fight anything that might mean a change in structure, which is why they never were serious about adopting Deming's principles for quality and still rely on inspections for QC.
