Hell, they can pay TM a profit on the engines and still get them for less than they could build them themselves because TM doesn't have the union labor to deal with.

The point is they did not have hybrid engines to use. They had to go hat in hand to the best and largest auto company in the world. I guess that doesn't matter to you.
