By its completion, Duncton Tales evolved into the first volume of a second trilogy, entitled "The Book of Silence". The story tells of the archival librarian mole Privet and her adopted son Whillan as they face the rise of an inquisitorial cult that fashions itself the Newborns. sounds interesting. and something I could read and pass on niece #2 and the bro-in-law. I found a copy of The Road at the used bookstore the other day, so it sits, awaiting to be read after I get through a couple of more mysteries that have been neglected on the shelf for months.
