would anyone with half a brain say that about one political party and not the other? That's what these parties do...politics and power.

The Democrats are far more about power than the Republicans are. For example, take Supreme Court nominations. The Democrats ALWAYS, ALWAYS make a Republican appointment a political power grab, while the Republicans never do that with liberal nominees. Not in my adult lifetime, at least. No liberal Court nominee has EVER been "borked"; yet, we see the borking time and again by the Schumer faction. No, the Republicans do not share in this activity.

Was Mccain thinking "country first" when he appointed a nobody to the job of VP?

It is my belief that Palin was a solid choice. While she lacked experience, she had far more than Obama, and is every bit as smart. So, I think she was a good choice.

Of course not...was obama thinking power when he appointed biden? He could have taken the easy route by appointing Clinton...but he didn't.

The easy route? Where were you? Hell, the discussion during the period was totally focused on the fact that if he chose Clinton he'd have to live with her husband. Biden was chosen for one reason only: Obama has no meaningful experience in areas that Biden does have. Not that that helps in any way other than in appearance.
