64 MB SDRAM ($196) is now about the same as a 64 MB EDO ($192), still about 20% differential on the 16 and 32 MB sizes. Also, the 16 MB SDRAM is now down to $50.50. see www2.d-g-s.com for the whole list.

still watching for the point to reshort

Larry,

Since MU is doing their business mainly in the contract market, if they have better than anticipated yields, there are chips left to sell after all contractual obligations have been met. You can sell them on the spot market, or hold 'em for the next contracts.
Seems plausible to me, but I could be way off base here...
Does Hal have you on the sidelines right now???

Cheers,

Peter Shaw

Larry,

Why are they holding inventory? 2 possible answers ... they don't want to put more pressure on an already weak market or they think they can take advantage of a bounce in prices. I agree with you, these are ice cubes. Likely they will deal with this when they have a really bad quarter (i.e. this Q) and will take an inventory writedown. For some peculiar reason analysts will treat this as an extraordinary item.
