Chrysler LLC CEO Bob Nardelli rejected suggestions that the automakers should seek Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection similar to airlines that later emerged restructured and leaner. "We just cannot be confident that we will be able to successfully emerge from bankruptcy," Nardelli said.

here we have nardelli confirming they won't survive without bailouts....he says they're are not confident they can survive a structured BK, yet we're supposed to believe give them a bailout and somehow (magically?) they will emerge profitable? amazing.

(nardelli on just now and blamed the credit market 'meltdown' as IF as haines so excellently pointed out, they've been in the process of failing for the past 40 years....if nardelli and cerberus <private equity> can't run a business profitably, SELL IT and let someone else do it)

btw, it's looking like the macke toyota short is working<g>
