Yes, exactly. Everything has been put in reverse. Force those with long positions out through selling, leading to more selling. It doesn't stop based on fundamentals or anything else we can dream up.

The sign of the top were funds who were short disintegrating and causing some final upward spikes and the endless and boring discussions of peak oil. History isn't going to repeat, but there will be some "rhyming" at the bottom. Maybe the whole abiotic theory will catch a bid, that would seal the deal for me. Maybe we'll find out that Goldman has been caught flat footed on some longs, this is just rank speculation mind you.

I'm cautiously long a dash of energy atm, with some stops that are about to be taken out. I'm favoring natural gas, it's more of a political/valuation trade than based on anything else.
