RE: "I am hoping for Volcker as T-secretary now."

Volcker makes me nervous as a hooker in a house of prayer.

His scam in the 80s was to jack interest rates through the roof and use taxpayer funds to bailout foreclosed mortgages, while selling the assets for pennies on the dollar to various members of the good old boys club.

The big difference between then and now, is in those days, most credit was at a fixed rate.

Anything like that now would push an already trashed economy over a cliff to never never land. Jacking up prime to the levels seen in the 80s would completely wipe out the middle class in this country, and probably set off the second American Revolution in the process.
