McCain had the right instincts historically with these types... he was (used to be) really against them:

<just a cycle, the glaciers have been retreating for like 250-300 years at least, what's up with that?>

Well, yea... get long term graphs of global temperatures especially... which are well chronicled thanks to SCIENTIFIC discoveries and methods SCIENTISTS developed based on SCIENTIFIC THEORIES.

There is lots of differing opinion on "global warming" if you read about it at all. @ my university the head of the department suspects it's not "man made". Of course any scientist who claims to know 100% either way is not a good scientist.

The most vociferious folks who think they know 100% are in the camp that there is no global warming as far as I can see. They think it's a hoax and other absolutely stupid ideas.

As I said... I think global warming is practically a side note, as everything the global warming (ala Al Gore) types want to do actually makes a lot of sense for health and other reasons which are much easier to prove.
