I do believe people understand that big business is constantly taking 'investments' and loans from the public trough while times are good and dodging taxation at the same time. When times turn down, they blow themselves up (still happening with the banks) so they are 'too big to fail' and will get taxpayer support.

Obviously, if GM is too big to fail then it should not fail...uh oh. Lehman thought the same thing right down to the bitter end when the CEO kept saying that things were looking fine....small wonder he was punched out by an irate employee at the Lehman gym.

I imagine there are plenty of GM employees who want to see Wagoner ousted and his $36 million corporate jet - used for this trip to Washington - mothballed.

I keep seeing ads for Cadillac (IIRC) CTSs and oversized Jeeps. I guess people are starting to forget about $4.50 gasoline...just in time for OPEC to get its job together and do their 'gut america' thing again.

GM and Chrysler and Ford should get together and sue ExxonMobil, BP, the Saudis, speculators et al. THEY HAVE ALL OF THEIR MONEY NOT THE US TAXPAYER.
