This is the inevitability that I'm preparing for myself. A bailout will only prolong the inevitable.

Although I'm a pragmatist and would advocate engineering a softer landing, I don't think ANYONE in Washington has a clue as to how.

You, Z, and Chris all say the same things - layoffs will be tough on those laid off. True. But companies going down the tubes have to do it anyway.
