The west coast senators are getting strong no votes from their constituencies for this I am certain, even though the west coast is sensitive to labor typically. Thats probably 2 or 3 votes from CA and OR that aren't going to come through for an auto bailout and they need EVERY dem to vote for it. The auto bailout has to be done.....there is no choice. There is little confidence left in the American financial system. People are running to bonds even thought yields are down to zero. The rest of the world is watching.....we screw this one up and we will see a depression faster than you can sing "I left my heart in SF". It has to be done, Liz....no matter whether we think it should intellectually or theoretically or morally. Unfortunately, it is what it is.
