I have an ulterior motive for no bail out and instead a reorganization I should disclose. About 20 years ago a bunch of us in the car business started a pool, who could guess the date of GM's bankruptcy. Closest guy is going to win 1500 dollars. I selected April of 09 and am really the only one left in the running. If they go beyond that nobody wins and we just have a big party with the money. A big party is fine but I want to win:)

I became convinced that GM was dead it was only a matter of when after touring the Janesville, WI mfg plant. We came upon a guy down in a hole who was studying. I asked the tour guide, what is that guy doing? He said studying. I said what is his job and he said he really doesn't have one. I said huh. He said that he used to run spot welder from this station but now that a robot is doing the job he really doesn't have a job.

I walked out of there and this was back in the mid 80's saying they are doomed, it's only a matter of when.
