yea but the chamber of commerce was massively FOR this bailout, because business owners could see their credit was locking up. Congress needs to have the maturity to do the right thing, or something that they think is the right thing, unlike some yahoo poster who can just rail against "the man" on the bailout.

It appears TARP doesn't work, but a few weeks ago nobody knew that. The people for it were trying to avoid what has happened anyway. 350 billion, which is what has been spent on TARP, while a lot, represents the typical Bush admin BS pork package that they were ramming through every year, like that farm bill. So it isn't a catastophe that we spent it. We shouldn't have, but they need to throw the kitchen sink at the fiscal crisis and not hold off because some high school graduate in Alabama thinks its a bad idea.

"I want a 10k refund-bailout-rebate check."

Why?

We haven't paid for the bailout yet.
We haven't paid for last summer's bailout yet.
We haven't paid for the "stimulus" checks yet.
We haven't paid for the Iraq War yet.

All those costs are borrowed money, collecting interest, until the taxpayers either pay them or the country defaults.

The US Dollar is going to end up being worthless.
