Of the mutual funds I started watching this year for performance purposes, FCNTX is "best" at -47% YTD while Bill Miller brings up the rear at -67% for LMVTX. Most of the indexes are off close to 50%.

Superstar Ken Heebner's CGMFX is -59%.

While I consider my personal performance this year somewhere between rotten, horrible and stupid, it's nice to know I am not alone.

The topic on BNN these days has often been careful consumers.. and frankly I do not see how any amount of liquefying the economy (deflation)
should get J6P buying on credit again with any positive outcome..

I just want the market t stop tossing the good stocks out with the crap..

PS.. in all their machinations I cannot understand why the regulators do not
1) reinstate the UPTICK rule
2) crack down on naked shorting... can't regulators just look at high short to float ratios and even halt a few stocks for investigation... seems to me folks would begin to believe the possibly that it wasn't the little Dutch boy in charge of the dike.. and it would scare the crap out of naked shorters that can now act with impunity.. Assuming of course that naked shorting really is illegal :O)
