I read that page earlier today. I, amongst hordes of lurkers no doubt, didn't know what backwardation actually meant. I saw it in a recently posted missive by Lance that it *might* occur, and so now it has.

But after reading that wiki article and making a little plot on paper for my brain to stare at, I still do not comprehend how this affects things going forward, except perhaps commercials who can sell futures contracts and cover today for a sure profit?

One thing is certain, though: this event has ushered in a bold, new age for gold bugs*.
