I agree that it is an absurd valuation. But then, it is also a shot in the dark. We don't really know what surprises Countrywide will hold. I think if C is worth 3.05, it is also worth 4 or 5. Or even 6. The question is, will they survive at all? Will someone buy them out? Will equity holders get anything if there is a dismemberment or a sale? If they do (I guess I should say for the moment, if "we" do), then we will surely get more than $4.

Unlikely to happen, but it would be nice to see the bank index rally to close near the unchanged mark. It was as low as 508, now 536.
