Like Alberto, most of their legal expenses would be covered by us the taxpayers if they were later charged with a crime. So, if they are innocent they should not be pardoned preemptively.

I don't think they will be charged with anything (most people just want to move on...) but if Bush were to pardon any of the people you listed, it just raises the question....why? What is being hidden?

Better not to pardon anybody.

(it does tick me off that we are paying for Gonzales legal fees for his admittedly illegal hiring practices at DOJ. Plus as taxpayers we'll pay the damage award or settlement amounts too).
