WAMU was seized by the FDIC/OTS following a run on the bank where they were bleeding deposits. There has been no run on Citibank. If it comes to an acquisition of CITI by another institution, I think that you should look to the WB saga for a precedent - a purchase for stock of the acquiring institution. I don't know how this would turn out for the shareholders in relation to today's price, but it would not be a total WAMU wipe-out.
