Ish,

I'm sorry to hear about that. Don't know what it is, but some of the most peaceable dogs seem to get agitated about mail carriers. Might be something the mail carriers bring on themselves. In any event, you can expect some crap to come your way from the USPO, including a refusal to deliver mail to your place.

Again, sorry to hear this.

Ish, please be careful! The well loved Buddy that our son had and we foster-friend took over so he/Buddy would have a house to guard and stay with, had an issue with the mailman too....We had to keep him on a leash, and had to go to the PO and get our mail for a month or two... They changed the mailman's route, and the rest of the mailmen we had loved him...they fed him dog biscuits (even if it is against regs...) and Buddy was butter in their hands. We think the other mailman did something to Buddy to provoke him, as we NEVER had trouble before then, nor after that...People came by to see him all the time....

BUT the PO can cause you grief, so just do what they say so you can keep Bubba....

I'm sorry too....

Good grief! Either an excuse to get a post office box or keep in inside when the mail is delivered.

Wise words from Smithee and Karen. You know very well that dogs dislike mailmen and the UPS guy.

Boy, that brought back some memories. A long time ago our very obedience trained German Shepherd hit our mailman in our front yard. My daughter, who knew not to take the dog out of the back yard, did it anyway. My wife was in the shower and didn't realize it. The mailman came from between some large bushes between our house and the neighbor's. The dog went for him immediately, ripped his pants on one side nearly the length of the pants leg. Daughter screamed and my naked wife peeked from the window and called the dog off. The mailman dropped his bag and headed for his vehicle at the end of the street. The cop got to the house before I did and was ready to take the dog away about the time I arrived. We had words but the dog stayed with me. We had to pick up our mail at the PO for several days, I had to buy the mailman a new pair of pants and give him a day's pay because he was "too traumatized" to work the next day. The dog was just protecting my daughter, which was exactly why we kept him around, other than the fact that he was family, of course. gg

Good grief! Hopefully no one will mess with Bubba, he was protecting his territory. Wonder if the mail man kicked or growled at him and set Bubba off.
