Knighty, the "government" doesn't call it a surplus.

democratic political partisan spinsters call the increase in debt a "surplus" to mislead the people who aren't paying attention.

call the government budget office right now and see if they call it a surplus. they don't, because it wasn't.

i have no problem saying clinton was *very close* to balancing the budget, though, as that was truthful. you can also see from the chart how he dramatically reduced the debt while bush obliterated it.

i will take issue when the "up" is claimed to be "down", though.

it isn't, and we shouldn't let these politicians redefine truth to suit their own agenda.

their agenda should be truth, imho.
