"...Well, like many of us who saw "problems on the horizon" and took some action, we were unable to avoid the mess and grossly under estimated the intelligence of the people running Citibank in my case and Wells Fargo in Buffet's case..."

So Kirk, both you and Warren saw these "problems" coming a long time before the rest of us plebeians.

I remember Buffett's written and spoken warnings of the evils of derivatives but I must have missed yours.

Warren said his derivatives were "different" than those he warned about but he's lost a couple of billion anyway.

I see you once again blaming your investment failures on somebody else...this time it's the stupidity of the people running Citibank.

And then you self righteously chirp...

"...It is beyond me how so many failed to follow the simple logic that you are safe if you avoid leverage..."

But then you load up on banks stocks whose entire business is built on LEVERAGE!

And BTW Kirk, have you ever had a clunker where you did not try to put the blame on somebody else for lousy performance?

I don't remember one.
