You do realize we're in an economic depression, don't you?

depression conditions apply to all countries, including US against which AUD and others have been marked down. imo the violent decline in AUD is mainly due to unwind of JPY carry trade. considering the clusterfark which is the US economy, personally i don't expect USD to be a great port in the storm going forward.

China still has internal growth. A new US currency would not be that much of the deal. China still has labor & factories that other nations couldn't match. The rest of the world still needs China.
