I have no problem with the good they have done in the past John, does that excuse the disaster they are today?

You think Intel, MSFT, Cisco would be where they are today if the UAW was involved?

You want the UAW running our health care?

"I'm pretty sure you have no clue how much unions have meant to this country."

Really! Do you like working just 5 days a week? Thank the unions. Like getting holidays. sick days and a vacation? Unions. The list goes on and on, but most Americans are clueless.

I'm pretty sure you have no clue how much unions have meant to this country.

I suspect everyone here would agree that unions had a time and place. But those are gone now; the only reason for the existence of unions today is to rip off employers. They serve no other useful purpose, other than to extort money from companies who use their labor.

It is time for unions to be stopped, and either they can be stopped as a condition of the bailout or we can do the bailout and be here again a year or two down the road. UAW is the most significant contributor to American auto companies' problems. It would be idiotic to spend money to salvage them without first correcting the fundamental problem.

Unions were good for the country at one time. Now, they are bad for the country. Is it so difficult for you to understand that times have changed?
