Last I read, 12% of US oil consumption comes from the middle east with the US producing approx 42% of our own production. Anyway the point was that 800 billion out the door every year whether to Mexico or Venezuela or who... still money out the door

Our imported oil comes mostly from Mexico and Canada.

Um, no. That is where most of our imported weed comes from. Our imported oil still comes from the middle east.
