It could have been mere coincidence... I think I heard a garbage truck roll down the street at about the same time, so it could have been the truck that rallied the markets, it's too soon to say... let's not confuse contiguity with causality, especially when events occur within some degree of close propinquity...

Markets rally 70% of the time before Thanksgiving and immediately after, and the markets are also oversold... I bought the SP's at 753.00 when the markets were down 300 points that day and when the SP's hit the 20 year monthly support line that began in October of 1987... I wouldn't be so quick to attribute any rally at this point to any one bit of news...

I had no idea obama would make any announcement, but I bought on that trend line and my timing model told me to buy... when the markets go down, reporters will blame it on some news of the day... when the markets go up, those reporters will blame it on some other news of the day... but in reality, these markets don't respond to daily new for more than a few hours...
