I don't think the Obama administration will move against gold or guns until at least after the 2010 election. This would use up far too much political capital and time, and energize various political groups in opposition.

There are several very positive efforts that are a likely to occur first. Foreign Policy, reducing Iraq activity, restoring some degree of cooperation with other nations are the low hanging fruit.

Expect many econommic actions, maybe not much in results for a while.

I think we can also count on Obama not doing much about gays in the military. Bill Clinton did this, and it really cost him.
