Some of the conservatives on the Sunday shows are freaking out. They see these "liberal" solutions to these economic problems being proposed, and they seen truly terrified that they'll WORK.

That a way - defend Obama for doing nothing in advance. Gotta keep the expectations low. He already backed away from the promise to create 2.5M new jobs. Now he only is promising to create OR PRESERVE those jobs. IOW if only 2.5M people continue to work in this country, he can claim to have kept the promise.
