Dogs do not have egos, greed, or hypocrisy, my favorite pet peeves. They do have jealousy and anger, but they offset that greatly with the amount of love that they give uncritically to anyone who loves them back.

Daisy weighs about sixty pounds but her favorite activity is to jump up on our lap when we're in the lazy boy and sleep there while we're watching the tube. She got that from when Margie held her as a puppy to calm her down.

Normally she doesn't bark when we leave her in the car, except when we park in front of our little library. I don't know why she does it there and only there.

I've been putting out dried corn for the squirrels in our back yard. It's really a hoot to see them stuff their cheeks with it, run out several feet and dig dig dig, put put put, pat pat pat the kernels into the grass. My wife said if we have corn next year I'll be in trouble.

Daisy likes to chase the squirrels, but they are too fast for her. She did catch a little rabbit a few weeks ago.
