Rocky Mountain Identifies Thick Zones of Phosphate at Paris Hills, Bear Lake County, Idaho

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 24, 2008) - ROCKY MOUNTAIN RESOURCES CORP. (TSX VENTURE: RKY.V) is pleased to report the results of a recently completed drilling program at the Paris Hills phosphate and vanadium project located in Bear Lake County, Idaho.

The results confirmed the presence of two high grade phosphate beds and a vanadium rich bed within the target horizon, and also identified adjacent thicker zones of intermediate grade phosphate.

Phosphate results showing the high grade phosphate beds within the thicker zones of intermediate grade phosphate are summarized in the table below.

Drilling for RKY was conducted by Boart Longyear Pty Ltd Drilling Services of Elko, Nevada. Assaying was completed by ALS Chemex of Reno, Nevada. Quality control and sampling was conducted by independent contractors. Drill thicknesses are reported instead of true width because of the difficulty to calculate the orientation of the phosphate beds from limited drilling. All holes were intended to be vertical, but down-hole survey of PHRC-4 indicated that it deviated from vertical, finishing at 65 degrees.

"First, the thickness and grade of the high grade beds are within the ranges expected base on reports by Earth Sciences, Inc. in their work from the 1970s. Second, and more significant, Rocky Mountain has identified long intervals of intermediate grade phosphate that were not included in Earth Science's historic resource at Paris." Shown in the table below are phosphate and vanadium results for two sets of nearby current RKY and historic Earth Sciences, Inc. (ESI) drill holes: PHRC-1 / ESI-23, and PHRC-2 / ESI-31. PHRC-1 was collared 260 feet from ESI-23, while PHRC-2 was 45 feet from ESI-31.

The data in the table above provide evidence that the 2008 drill results confirm historic grades and thicknesses reported by ESI, substantiating the presence of two high grade phosphate beds and a vanadium bed within the target horizon. The upper high grade phosphate bed is 10 to 20 feet thick and the lower bed is 2.5 to 10 feet thick, both assaying in the range of 22% to 27% P2O5. The vanadium bed lies immediately below the upper phosphate bed and is 10 to 20 feet thick. The lower unit within the vanadium bed measures 2 1/2 to 5 feet thick and assays between 0.7% and 1.0% V2O5. The beds form a shallow bowl-like structure underlying much of the property, upturned on the east and west edges, dipping gently from south to north, accounting for the different drill depths. Current assay results are, in general, slightly lower than the historic results, reflecting the expected difference between reverse circulation drilling and core drilling.

Rocky Mountain's drilling program comprised six holes that were drilled using reverse circulation methods in September and October for a total depth of 5,669 feet. The holes were numbered PHRC-1 to PHRC-6 and the locations are shown in red dots on the image below. Also shown, for reference, are the locations of the historic drill holes by Earth Sciences, Inc. from the 1970s.

The purpose of the current drilling program was to confirm historic results previously reported by ESI with respect to the grades and thicknesses of phosphate and vanadium mineralization. Results were obtained from four of the holes; two holes, PHRC-5 and PHRC-6 encountered geologic conditions which interfered with obtaining reliable samples of the target horizon within the Phosphoria Formation.

Note regarding historic resources: In reports dated 1976 and 1977, ESI projected a total resource of 304 million tons of phosphate rock averaging 26.8% P2O5 and 44 million tons of vanadium mineralization on the 3,300 acres of the property underlain by the Meade Peak member of the Phosphoria Formation. The vanadium mineralization included 6.7 million tons of proven and probable resource grading 0.88% V2O5. A qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify these historical resources as current mineral resources or mineral reserves under CIM best practices, Rocky Mountain is not treating these historical estimates as current mineral resources or mineral reserves, and the historical estimates should not be relied upon.
