No, I've worked in such an environment twice -- once as an accountant for Georgia Pacific Corporation and once for NCR Corporation as a programmer/analyst. I bailed on both these jobs at the earliest possible time, spending no more than a year combined. I could not tolerate the bureaucratic corporate culture; I much preferred the responsibility of consulting and quickly headed that direction. I admire head-nodders who can do these jobs; I just never could do it.
