FF, regarding BH's puts... i guess buffett didn't factor in the nikkei into his equation. while he may end up winning these gambles, one has to wonder... 1. why buffett felt the need to gamble - is business that bad? 2. we have serious structural problems that could reasonably take down the financial system as we know it. i'd argue we face far worse of a problem now than japan faced in the early 90s and they recently hit a 26 year low in the nikkei - down 90+% from its all time high. there is an excellent chance buffett loses big here.

Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker finally merged as a playing platform yesterday. Most of the new system is UB, but some interesting things have been added from AP. If you fold, you can point the arrow at your seat to recall the cards you were holding. And, if the hand ends before the last card is dealt, you can use the rabbit cam to see what the last card would have been. Neither of these factors make you a better player, but they are fun. There are decidedly more players on the system now. I'd say population increased by about 25%. Many of the players had accounts at both sites, including Yours Truly. So, a positive move, but nothing to write home about. If anybody wrote letters. Or, had a home. <G> My main complaint is that I loved the 10 seat format on UB, as it fits my laid back until I'm crazy aggressive style. The new system is only 9 seats. I hope my winning amounts do not decrease.
